Oldsmar's city holiday season begins with one hour at City Hall on a Monday night. It ends 12 days later with a Saturday that runs from a 9 a.m. breakfast seating to an 8 p.m. parade finish. Every official holiday event on the 2026 city calendar falls between November 30 and December 12. Most of them take place on State Street West or St. Petersburg Drive East.
Miss the one Friday at R. E. Olds Park or let the Breakfast with Santa phone call slide, and the season is mostly gone before mid-December. Here is how the two weeks line up, day by day.
The season opens with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall, 100 State Street West, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 30. It falls on the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. The city has given it a one-hour window, so it fits after work and before a school night.
From City Hall the rest of the season stays close. State Street Center, which hosts Breakfast with Santa on the 12th, is at 127 State Street West on the same street. The night of the tree lighting also introduces the address that hosts the season's final Saturday.
The only holiday event away from State Street and the library is Winter Wonderland. It runs Friday, December 4, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at R. E. Olds Park, 107 Shore Drive West. The city's listing calls it "the coolest event of the year" and promises a giant snow slide, bounce houses, concessions and a visit from Santa, with entertainment starting at 5 p.m.
Winter Wonderland gets three and a half hours, the longest single block of holiday programming before the 12th. It is also the first of the season's two Santa appearances. The second comes eight days later at breakfast. Questions about the park event go to the recreation staff at 813-749-1152 or [email protected].
Starting Monday, December 7, the season moves to Oldsmar Public Library at 400 St. Petersburg Drive East. The Holiday Scavenger Hunt runs there through Saturday, December 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Holiday images are hidden around the library, and children who find all of them win a prize. It is open to kids 12 and under, and each child gets one play and one prize during the program.
Because each child gets only one play, the hunt works best as a single visit that week. A weekday after school skips the Saturday crowd. Families who want to fold it into a longer day can save it for the 12th, when the library has the most going on.
The library is also home to Oldsmar's newest small attraction, an interactive historical museum. Bay News 9 reported that it opened in January 2026. The city and the Oldsmar Historical Society built it for about $10,000, and it includes an AI version of Ransom E. Olds, the city's founder. City Manager Felicia Connelly told the outlet the exhibit uses an audio interview as the basis for Olds's voice. The museum's regular hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. A family doing the scavenger hunt on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday afternoon can catch both in one trip.
All of that leads into the busiest day of Oldsmar's holiday season. On December 12 the city calendar lists six events in two buildings, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 8 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa has a deadline. The event page says "Space is limited. Preregistration Required - call 813-749-1152" and "No Walk Ups." The page describes breakfast with Santa, a gift and photo opportunities. With only two one-hour seatings, the call to reserve a spot is the first thing on the season's to-do list. It belongs well before the tree lighting.
Parade entries pay $5 per golf cart, or $10 for a family of up to four on bikes. The parade starts from the library at 6 p.m. Families riding in the parade can spend the morning at State Street Center, the afternoon at the library and the evening on the route without leaving the same few addresses.
A practical way to split the day:
The Saturday schedule leaves gaps between events, and Tampa Road has the nearest options with recent changes.
The State Street area that hosts most of this season is also where Oldsmar's next downtown is planned. Bay News 9 reported in August 2026 that the city approved essential terms with Stanbery Development Group for 8 city-owned acres between Tampa Road, State Street and Washington Avenue. The proposal includes 240 apartments, 21,000 square feet of retail, a public plaza and a $2 million land payment.
The terms reserve at least 30% of the retail for food, limit duplicate business types and require completion within five years. As of that August report, a draft agreement would next go to planning-board review and then two council hearings. The terms also allow five years for completion, so this December's tree lighting and Breakfast with Santa stay at City Hall and State Street Center.
